Fibreglass bar anchor system
The IDE GFRP soil nails and rockbolts are highly resistant to corrosion and suitable for both permanent and temporary applications. Durability against corrosion is achieved during the pultrusion process of ECR boron free glass fibres through a vinylester resin matrix.
GFRP soil nails and rockbolts are a durable and high strength alternative to steel bars for ground support in civil engineering, tunnelling and marine projects with the added advantage of light weight to ease installation.
The IDE GFRP bars have a continuous thread and can be easily cut anywhere along their entire length for nut and coupler installation. The continuous thread deformation and rough surface also provide strong bond to cement grout and resin.
For added strength, IDE provides steel hex nuts and steel plates which can be galvanized for permanent applications.
The IDE GFRP bars and hardware are non-conductive to stray current such as in rail corridors.
IDE recommends the use of the reduction factors mandated by ACI 440 (latest version).
